More about Mustard
Here’s a link to some Mp3s of our best homeless friend, Mustard:

Homeless guy sings "Creep"
The video shows a homeless man (nicknamed Mustard), covering “Creep” by Radiohead. It was recorded on the Opie and Anthony show. Apparently they do a segment where they pick a homeless person off of the street and buy them clothes. Mustard was chosen for it and mentioned that he was a musician. They gave him a guitar, and this was the result:

I must give credit where credit is due. My old roommate, Alex, found this out.
Listen to this song:
and then listen to this song:
Now how about that? Kanye does it again (i.e. daft punk). Can’s album, Ege Bamyasi, came out in 1972.
C’mon Kanye, you’re trying too hard.
Graduation is still a good album. by the way, it came out THREE YEARS AGO. feel old? I do.

“Ugly girls be quiet quiet… pretty girls clap clap like this”
I don’t think we’ve had a post about the District of Columbia’s golden boy. Olubowale Victor Akintimehin aka Wale is a rapper from Washington, D.C. and if you haven’t copped his debut album Attention Deficit yet, do it. One of the best debut albums in 2009, its got a lot more than what people...

Ya Boy is my shit...
New Ya Boy video with his Black Card Boys going in over Rihanna’s Hard. Honestly not feeling any of these Black Card Boys but any excuse to make a post about YB is a good one. Best known for the hit single We Run LA, his better material is hidden in the depths of his plethora of mixtapes.
If you’ve never heard of him before, definitely give the video below a listen too. 100 Bars...
BLUE SCHOLARS - OOF! (2009)
If you’ve never heard the Blue Scholars, be prepared for a treat. The Blue Scholars are a duo comprised of an MC named Geo, and Dj named Sabzi who are both from Seattle, Washington. Geo’s lyrical game mixed with Sabzi’s ridiculously insane production talent create an amazing treat for your ears. I would definitely recommend this group to anyone, even if they’re not a fun of...

…every public song you hear on the radio. tv. and yes even nightclubs are paid for (when a business opens you have to be very specific in the role that music plays in that establishment: will you have a jukebox in your diner? you pay a fee for public music. will you have “elevator music” in your supermarket? you pay a fee for public music. will you allow dancing in your...
DJ DECKSTREAM - SOUNDTRACKS 2 (2009)
Hi guys, I’m here to introduce another Dj Deckstream album titled, “Soundtracks 2”. In this album, Dj Deckstream collaborates with many artists just like his previous album, “Soundtracks”. Some particular artists I’d like to mention in this amazing album are “Mos Def”, “Substantial”, and many other talented artists.

DJ DECKSTREAM - SOUNDTRACKS (2007)
As my first post, I’d like to introduce DJ DECKSTREAM into your beautiful lives.

FINALLY
IT IS I, CHRIS YANG!
I’m so excited to have access to this blog! I’ve been wanting to contribute my musical knowledge to a community that loves music as much as me for the longest time. I actually knew about this music blog for a long time, but I was always too lazy to ask for access. That’s why last night, while being under the influence, I finally decided to write a fake...

The Fall
I’m hungry so this is going to be really fast. I haven’t eaten since 5 or something. Been working on a project in Illustrator.

Open Letter From OK Go, Regarding Non-Embeddable... →
In response to fan uproar over being unable to embed OK Go’s YouTube videos, lead singer Damian Kulash wrote the following letter. It’s an eye-opening—and discouraging—inside account of how poorly the major labels manage the music you love.
Share share share music. Live in musical euphoria.

Gia Jo
So this is my girl spittin’. She’s an up and coming hip-hop artist originally out of San jose, but now based in LA. I think she’s awesome, but I’m slightly biased ;D. She’s a little lazy (haha she’s gonna kill me), but if you guys like what you hear… let her know to motivate her! You can find more of her tracks and give her feedback through her...
Late Night Alumni
So this new year has been really busy and somewhat stressful for me so far and to relieve some of that stress I’ve been listening to a lot of Late Night Alumni. They’re a 4-piece band out of Salt Lake City, Utah that blends soft trance with house mixed in with beautiful vocals and their sound is really reminiscent of ambient music. One of the members is actually a pretty prominent DJ...

Tom Waits
This guy is SO cool. He’s like a very insane version of Johnny Cash - and even that comparison is not that good. In fact, he’s not like Johnny Cash at all. He’s his own crazy dude.
If his name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s the guy who plays the devil in Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus.
He’s got that smokey, raspy voice that people wish they could have...

Our second LoZ:OoT (pronounced Luh-zoot) update
If you were ever age 9-13, you played Ocarina of Time, which is unarguably a great game with replay value up the wazoo.
This is a mashup album with contemporary music and music from the game.
http://teamteamwork.bandcamp.com/album/the-ocarina-of-rhyme
Some of mashups seem forced, but I’m partial to the Jay-Z/Owl, the busta rhymes, and mf doom ones.

Pink Moth - The Wild
Some people are calling this band the “best new discovery of 2009” (little do they know that it is presently 2k10).
After listening to the album, I agree. This album is AMAZING. I couldn’t help but listen to the whole thing. some blogger likened it to finding your grandpa’s dusty attic - quiet, muted, elegant, and fragile.
Genre - indie/folk/experimental (plus they have a...
Lady Gaga
This is the only time you will catch me making an update about Lady Gaga. I own none of her songs, I change the station everytime one of her singles comes on, and it kind of bothers me when someone on my FB newsfeed makes a status update about her.
Nevertheless, I think this music video owns.
I was reading on a forum about this video, and the director of it was actually a member and he was...

Emcees You Should Know: Jay Electronica
Blaow. EYSK Part 2 bitches.
I’m not going to beat around the bush. Jay Electronica is my favorite artist. If he ever comes out with an album (and that’s a big if) I believe he will do for hip-hop what Nas did in the ’90s (cue clueless stares). If you haven’t heard about him it’s probably because he’s too low key for his own good. I don’t think...
